Careers Education & Guidance at Tytherington High School offers a wide programme and range of services, whether you are interested in progressing to University, Employment, Further Education, Gap Year, Year in Industry or a Voluntary opportunity. It is designed to provide each individual student with the skills to make well informed realistic decisions about their learning and career opportunities. To make choices and decisions you need to be secure in the knowledge that your decisions are based on sound principles and strategies that are widely recognised by Education and Industry. Every student is entitled to gain the skill to plan their futures and to understand the planning process that goes into making well informed and realistic decisions. At Tytherington High School we have Connexions Advisers who help with career options, application/CV’s, further study options or employment opportunities. Individual one to one appointments are available lasting around 40minutes, or students can just drop-in to book appointments. Connexions offers all students support up to the age of 19, and those with special needs up to the age of 25. Designated School staff co-ordinate work related opportunities such as

There is an up to date Careers Library within the LRC. You will find access to on-line resources, ranging from choosing your Careers to Social and Personal Advice. The UK Clinical Aptitude Test (UKCAT)
for Medical and Dental Degrees
Candidates wishing to apply for 2011 entry to participating universities or intending to apply for deferred entry in 2012, will be required to register for the UKCAT before 27 September 2010 and required to sit the UKCAT between 6th July 2010 and 8th October 2010.
The following is the key list of dates:

Cadidates are strongly recommended to register and sit the UKCAT at their earliest convenience to ensure places are availiable at thheir chosen test centre. The cost of the test is £60 rising to £75 from 1st September 2010.
